The Minister of Information and Culture led a delegation on an official visit to Herat Province.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Sheikh Sher Ahmad Haqqani, led a delegation to Herat Province, accompanied by the Deputy Minister for Publications Affairs, Mr. Muhajir Farahi. During the visit, the delegation toured several key institutions, including the Department of Information and Culture, the Regional Museum, the Public Library, the newly constructed theater building, Ikhtyaruddin Citadel, the Heriwa Darulfunun (Technical and Vocational Institute), and the TAPI project.
Throughout the visit, Minister Haqqani underscored the importance of safeguarding the country’s historical heritage. He noted that these monuments are an essential part of national identity and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to preserving, restoring, and promoting them for future generations through sustained, practical efforts.
He commended the work of the relevant officials and highlighted the need to further enhance performance, strengthen cultural initiatives, and expand public services. He also offered guidance across various sectors, emphasizing that the development of cultural and educational institutions plays a vital role in raising awareness among young people and deepening their connection to their history and culture.
While reviewing progress on the TAPI project in Herat, Minister Haqqani pointed out that the implementation of large-scale national and regional initiatives such as TAPI contributes to economic stability, creates job opportunities, and fosters greater trust among countries in the region.
Officials from the Department of Information and Culture, the Regional Museum, the Public Library, the Theater, Ikhtyaruddin Citadel, the Heriwa Darulfunun, and the TAPI project welcomed the Minister and his delegation. They highlighted ongoing efforts across cultural, artistic, informational, and economic sectors, noting that staff continue to work diligently to improve services for the public.
During his visit, Minister Haqqani also attended a condolence (Fatiha) ceremony in the village of Deh Mehri in Injil District, honoring those who were martyred in an attack by unknown armed individuals.
