Tuesday, 27 Shawwal 1447 AH — The Tourism and Hospitality Institute, operating under the Directorate of Tourism Research and Development within the Deputy Ministry for Tourism, Financial and Administrative Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Culture, has officially begun its new academic term.

To mark the occasion, a ceremony was held with the participation of Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Financial and Administrative Affairs; Mawlawi Mohammad Sadiq Sadaqat, Director of Tourism Research and Development; Qari khobib Ghafran, Director of Public Relations and Spokesperson; along with several officials, instructors, and students.

Institute officials highlighted that the program is designed to develop skilled professionals, enhance the quality and standardization of tourism services, create employment opportunities, and contribute to economic growth by attracting more visitors to the country.

During the event, the Head of the Institute, Mawlawi Mohammad Zaman Naseri, and a student representative spoke about the institute’s role and importance. They also shared their challenges, suggestions, and expectations with the Deputy Minister.

Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal, in his address, noted that the institute has already graduated several cohorts, many of whom are now employed in hotels across the country. He described tourism as a vital pillar of the national economy and an important avenue for building constructive international connections.

He encouraged students to take full advantage of the opportunities available to them and to remain committed to both theoretical and practical learning. This, he said, would enable them to provide high-quality services to tourists in the future. He also assured participants that the concerns and suggestions raised by students and institute staff would be carefully considered

In his remarks, Qari Habib Ghafran expressed his appreciation for the opportunity provided to young people to pursue their education in a secure environment. He noted that these students have the potential to present an authentic and positive image of the country’s tourism, historical, and cultural heritage to the wider world.

He further observed that years of conflict have taken a toll on many sectors, including tourism. Despite this, he emphasized that the Ministry of Information and Culture has made this sector a priority and is working steadily to strengthen it through professional development and improved service delivery.
