Formal Inspection of Signboards and Advertising Panels Conducted in Kabul 1st District.
As part of its ongoing field monitoring efforts, the Commission for the Regulation of Signboards and Advertising Panels—operating under the Ministry of Information and Culture—carried out a comprehensive inspection in the Cinema Pamir area of the 1st District of Kabul City.
Qari Wali Gul Jawad, the head of the commission’s field committee, held discussions with local media representatives, business owners, and residents about the inspection and regulatory process. He emphasized the importance of the commission’s mandate to organize and standardize public visual communications throughout the capital.
During the visit, commission members provided detailed explanations of their objectives and procedures concerning the monitoring and correction of signage. These efforts aligned with the commission’s operational framework and regulatory standards. The committee also engaged with shopkeepers and representatives from various commercial sectors to ensure clarity and foster cooperation.
Moreover, alternatives were proposed for non-compliant and substandard signage. As a result, several unapproved or poorly designed signboards and advertising panels were removed or replaced according to established criteria.
Local business owners praised the commission’s initiative, recognizing it as a crucial step toward enhancing the visibility of national languages and preserving Afghanistan’s cultural and linguistic heritage. They also expressed their willingness to fully cooperate with the commission in future efforts to promote visual and cultural standards in public spaces.
