Publications Affairs Deputy Minister Meets Journalists and Media Representatives in Samangan

On 9 Rabi’ al-Thani 1448 AH The Ministry of Information and Culture’s Deputy Minister for Publications Affairs, Mawlawi Muhajir Farahi, met with journalists and representatives of government and private media outlets in Samangan Province to discuss issues affecting the media sector.
The meeting was also attended by Mawlawi Safiullah Raed, Head of Mass Media Monitoring at the Deputy Ministry for Publications Affairs, and Mawlawi Firozuddin Munib, Director of Information and Culture of Samangan Province. The meeting was held at the provincial Directorate of Information and Culture.
During the meeting, representatives of private media outlets and journalists raised concerns and shared suggestions concerning electricity bills, the process of obtaining frequency-filter licences for media outlets, and access to information. They said that no major problems had arisen between media organizations, journalists and the relevant authorities in Samangan over the past five years.
Mawlawi Firozuddin Munib provided an overview of the media outlets operating in the province. He said the Directorate of Information and Culture maintains close coordination and cooperation with media organizations and works to address journalists’ and media outlets’ concerns in a timely manner.
Mawlawi Muhajir Farahi and Mawlawi Safiullah Raed responded to the issues raised during the meeting and outlined efforts to address them. They said meetings had been held with officials of relevant institutions to discuss challenges facing media outlets and journalists.
They also said that necessary measures would be taken to address the concerns raised and provide support to journalists.
