Access to Information Law Eases Accountability, Transparency: Sharq

The Access to Information Commission organized an awareness program at the Ministry of Information and Culture yesterday, BNA reported.
Inaugurating the program, the deputy minister of publications Abdul Manan Sheway Sharq said the law on access to information has six chapters and 41 articles, that according to him would help improve accountability, transparency and good governance in the country.
The deputy minister also said the Ministry of Information and Culture was committed to disseminating the law on access to information through the audio-visual media.
Deputy to the commission on access to information Najiba Maram said public awareness about the law was their main priority, adding that law was prepared to help bring accountability, transparency as well as improve good governance in the country.
Technical advisor to the commission Wali Musbah briefed the participants on the law on access to information, saying the law could achieve first position among the 130 countries.
