Coordination Meetings in Maidan Wardak and Helmand on the Newly Ratified Poetry Regulation Issued Under the Directives of Amir-ul-Mu’minin (May Allah Protect Him)
The Department of Information and Culture in Maidan Wardak Province organized a literary coordination meeting to discuss the newly ratified Poetry Regulation issued under the directives of Amir-ul-Mu’minin (May Allah Protect Him). The session took place in the presence of Mawlawi Amanullah Mustaghfir, Head of the Department of Tranh and Tarana, and included local poets, writers, and cultural figures.
During the meeting, Mawlawi Habibullah Mujahid, Director of Information and Culture for Maidan Wardak, stressed the vital role that poets, authors, and intellectuals have historically played—and continue to play—in shaping the moral and cultural identity of Afghan society. He remarked that during previous jihadist struggles, poets and writers used their words as weapons to inspire public consciousness and resist occupation through powerful verses.
Mawlawi Mujahid urged the literary community to continue this mission by using their pens to reflect the true image of the Islamic system and promote national values rooted in faith, justice, and unity.
Participants also performed poetic recitations, presenting heartfelt verses. They appealed to the Ministry of Information and Culture, particularly the Department of Tranh and Taranom, for increased support, facilities, and platforms for poets and writers in the province to expand their creative work.
In response, Mawlawi Amanullah Mustaghfir reassured attendees of his department’s full cooperation and ongoing support. He encouraged poets to focus on writing that promotes social reform, unity, and the condemnation of harmful, un-Islamic traditions. He emphasized that such efforts are essential for purging society of negative cultural practices that lead to division and misfortune.
Poetry Regulation Seminar Held in Helmand Province
A similar one-day seminar was organized in Lashkargah, the capital of Helmand Province, at Mirwais Nika Recreational Park, to introduce and explain the newly ratified Poetry Regulation issued by Amir-ul-Mu’minin (May Allah Protect Him).
Hosted by the provincial Department of Information and Culture, the event brought together poets, naat reciters, and writers. The regulation was comprehensively presented by respected scholar Mawlawi Habibur Rahman Mohib, who elaborated on the value of poetry and writing in guiding society, preserving Islamic identity, and promoting ethical standards.
The regulation calls upon poets and writers to use their talents to serve the cause of moral education and national unity. It highlights the literary community's duty to act as agents of positive change, helping to reform society through their words.
Notably, the regulation also includes a provision stating that poets who make significant contributions to social reform through their literary works over the course of a year will be officially recognized and honored by the Ministry of Information and Culture.
