Officials of the Department of Information and Culture Visited the Ancient Area of Lashjovin District

The Director of Information and Culture of Farah province and his accompanying delegation visited the ancient buildings, places and tourist areas of Lashjawin district.
According to the officials of the Department of Information and Culture of Farah province, Lashjawin district is the first district in the country, which has more than (30) ancient buildings and places.
The Director of Information and Culture of Farah province, Muhammad Abdulhi Sabawon, said: “The purpose of our trip to this district is to closely visit ancient buildings, places and tourist areas, observe them, and get information about the destroyed and excavated parts.”
He also requested help from the local officials and citizens to save the mentioned places from any kind of digging, he added that the ancient buildings and places of Lashjawin district have a history of about (2000) years, which most of them have been destroyed due to the lack of care and protection of the rulers.
Nimatullah Ismailzadeh, Manager of Cultural Heritage Protection of the Department of Information and Culture, said: “There are more than 30 forts in Lashjovin district of this province, one of which is Lashjovin Fort, the fort located on the river of Farahrud. It is in a state of destruction due to water, so it is in dire need of a retaining wall.”
It is worth mentioning that during the trip to Lashjawin district of this province, with the delegation of the Director of Information and Culture, they visited the shrine, mortuary, well and mosque of Syed Mir Iqbal Agha, the fort and mosque of the ancient town of Peshawar. From the fort of the upper Kogha village and to the north of this village, Banjar Ali Mosque, Sabri Amon, Koshe Bridge, Dehan Ghar village and Jalala ancient caves, about (4000) year old ancient tree (Sawr), Lash Kala and some other areas were visited and monitored.
