Commission for the Reform of Signboards and Billboards Conducts Inspection in Kabul’s Districts 2 and 4
The Commission for the Reform of Signboards and Advertising Billboards, operating under the Ministry of Information and Culture’s Deputy Ministry for Publications Affairs, carried out inspections of signboards and advertising billboards in the Qawai Markaz area of Kabul’s Districts 2 and 4 as part of its ongoing field activities.
Qari Wali Gul Jawad, Director of Cultural Affairs at Kabul Municipality, spoke with members of the media, shopkeepers, and local residents about the commission’s work. He stressed that signboards and advertisements should reflect Islamic values, Afghan culture, and the country’s national languages.
During the inspection, officials found that most of the signboards and billboards in the area had already been revised in accordance with the commission’s guidelines. Business owners whose signs still contained issues or shortcomings were advised to make the necessary corrections.
The commission also instructed owners of signs written in foreign languages to replace them with suitable wording in the national languages.
According to officials, a total of 140 signboards and advertising billboards were inspected in the area.
