Deputy Minister for Art and Culture Meets with Calligraphers, Miniature Artists, and Painters
Monday, 27 Muharram 1448 AH, Mawlawi Atiqullah Azizi, Deputy Minister for Art and Culture at the Ministry of Information and Culture, met with dozens of master calligraphers, miniature artists, painters, and other distinguished artists at the National Gallery of the Directorate of Fine Arts.
The meeting focused on preparations for the commemoration of 24 Asad (Victory Day) and explored ways to encourage the active participation of calligraphers, miniature artists, painters, and other artists in the national observance, highlighting the significance of the occasion and its achievements through artistic expression, strengthening the spirit of national unity, promoting Islamic and national art and culture, and conveying the message of Victory Day to the world through the universal language of art.
Opening the meeting, Mr Azizi underscored the importance of art and said the gathering had been convened to facilitate artists' meaningful participation in the Victory Day commemorations. He noted that, through their creative works, artists would present the achievements and sacrifices of the Islamic Emirate during the celebrations.
He further announced that exhibitions featuring artistic works would be organized at the Loya Jirga Hall, in various locations across Kabul, and in several provinces to mark the occasion.
The Deputy Minister also invited participants to share their ideas and recommendations to help ensure the successful organization of the cultural programmes planned for 24 Asad. He urged artists to avoid ethnic, linguistic, and regional prejudice, emphasizing that such divisions have no place in the sacred religion of Islam.
Speaking at the meeting, Mawlawi Mohammad Lal Munib, Director of the Directorate of Fine Arts, said the Islamic Emirate, particularly the Ministry of Information and Culture, remains committed to supporting the promotion and advancement of the arts. He added that commemorating Victory Day is a shared national responsibility and stressed that artists have an important role to play in ensuring the success of the occasion.
At the conclusion of the meeting, several calligraphers, painters, miniature artists, and other artists shared their views, proposals, and recommendations. They also reaffirmed their commitment to providing full cooperation in support of the successful implementation of the Victory Day programmes.
