Signboards and Advertising Boards Reform Commission Conducts Inspection in Kabul’s Eighth District
As part of its ongoing field activities, the Signboards and Advertising Boards Reform Commission, operating under the Deputy Ministry for Publications Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Culture, conducted an inspection of signboards and advertising displays in the Karte Naw area of Kabul’s Eighth District.
At the outset of the visit, Mr. Qari Wali Gul Jawad, Director of Cultural Affairs at the Kabul Municipality, spoke with media representatives, shopkeepers, and local residents about the Commission’s work. He emphasized that all signboards and advertising materials should comply with the principles of Islamic Sharia, reflect Afghan cultural values, and be prepared in accordance with the country's national languages.
During the inspection, the Commission reviewed signboards and advertising displays throughout the area. The assessment found that the majority of the signs had already been brought into compliance with the Commission’s guidelines. For those containing deficiencies or inconsistencies, Commission members provided the owners with the necessary recommendations for correction and improvement.
In addition, owners of signboards and advertisements displayed in foreign languages were advised to replace them with appropriate equivalents in the national languages.
A total of 125 signboards and advertising displays were inspected during the visit.
