On Wednesday, 27th of Muharram 1447 AH, Mawlawi Atiqullah Azizi, Deputy Minister of Art and Culture at the Ministry of Information and Culture, led a delegation to visit the historic building of Amir Dost Mohammad Khan High School, located in District 3 of Kabul.
The delegation included Qari Wali Gul Jawad, Director of Cultural Affairs at Kabul Municipality; the Director of Historical Monuments at the Ministry of Information and Culture; the Director of Ancient Cities at the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing; and representatives from the Environmental Protection Agency and the Aga Khan Foundation.
Due to the proximity of main and side roads passing near the school, the delegation also met with the technical and engineering committee of Kabul Municipality, urging local engineers to pay special attention to preserving this nearly 124-year-old historical structure and ensuring it is protected from any potential threats or damage.
The technical and professional committee of Kabul Municipality assured the deputy minister’s delegation of their commitment to safeguarding historical sites along planned road expansions and specifically pledged to submit their final findings and assessments regarding the preservation of Amir Dost Mohammad Khan High School's historical building to the mayor of Kabul.
