Uzbek Diplomatic Delegation Visits Ghazni Province

A diplomatic delegation from the Republic of Uzbekistan, led by Bahadur Tashmanov, Deputy Head of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, and accompanied by Sheikh Hamidjan Ishmatbekov, Deputy Head of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, visited Ghazni Province, where it met with Ghazni Governor Mullah Wali Jan Hamza, a number of local officials and members of the provincial Council of Ulema.
The Ghazni governor thanked the Uzbek delegation for visiting the province and said the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan shares a range of cultural, political and economic values with neighboring countries, particularly the Republic of Uzbekistan, and remains committed to its obligations in accordance with Islamic Sharia.
The Uzbek delegation said the purpose of its visit was to promote the shared Islamic and cultural values between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan and to gain a deeper understanding of the traditions and culture of the people of Ghazni.
During the visit, the delegation toured several historic sites and monuments in Ghazni, including the mausoleum of the renowned Islamic scholar and poet Hakim Sanai Ghaznavi, the mausoleum of Abu Rayhan al-Biruni, the mausoleum of Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi, the conqueror of Somnath, Babaji Mosque and the Minarets of Ghazni.
Mullah Hamidullah Nisar, Director of Information and Culture of Ghazni, thanked the Uzbek delegation for its visit and provided detailed information about the province’s cultural figures and historic sites. He said Ghazni is one of Afghanistan’s historic and ancient provinces and that the Ghaznavid dynasty occupies a distinctive place in the history of Islamic conquests.
Nisar described the visit by the Uzbek delegation as beneficial to the development of tourism in Ghazni and emphasized the importance of strengthening the shared cultural values between the people of Ghazni and the people of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
