Three People Were Arrested for Smuggling Historical Artifacts in Ghazni Province

The spokesman of the Ghazni Police Command, Khalid Sarhadi, says that the officers of the First District security zone of have arrested three people on the charge of smuggling three pieces of historical artefacts.
Mr. Sarhadi adds that these three pieces of historical artefacts were obtained from the minarets of the Ghaznavid period in Ghazni city through illegal digging and they wanted to smuggle these historical artefacts.
At the same time, the Director of Information and Culture of Ghazni Mullah Hamidullah Nisar said; “The three pieces of artefacts, which are “Kurdoku” Pots, are believed to be related to the Ghaznavid period.”
Mr. Nisar adds that Ghazni is one of the provinces of the country that has a large number of ancient sites and he calls the lack of 012 security unit a challenge for the good protection of these ancient sites.
It is worth mentioning that with the arrival of the Islamic Emirate, this is the second time that the security forces have prevented the smuggling of historical artifacts in Ghazni.
