Sheikh Shir Ahmad Haqqani was introduced as the new minister of information and culture
Today, Wednesday (10th Rabi al-Awwal 1447 AH), in accordance with the decree of the Esteemed Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah preserve him), an official ceremony was held at the Ministry of Information and Culture to introduce the new Minister of Information and Culture, Sheikh Shir Ahmad Haqqani.
The event was attended by the Director General of the Administrative Office, Sheikh Noorulhaq Anwar; the former Minister of Information and Culture, Al-Haj Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa; the ministry’s deputy ministers; and representatives from a number of other government institutions.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Director General of the Administrative Office, Sheikh Anwar, highlighted that the leadership of the Islamic Emirate makes appointments in full accordance with Sharia principles. He explained that in an Islamic system, official responsibilities are regarded as a sacred trust, and every official is expected to fulfill these duties with sincerity and excellence. He added that change, transition, and adherence to divine rulings are fundamental principles of governance under the Islamic system. On this basis, he announced that, by the order of the Esteemed Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah preserve him), Sheikh Shir Ahmad Haqqani has been appointed as the new Minister of Information and Culture.
The Ministry’s Legal Advisor, Qari Saeed Khwosti, also addressed the gathering, sharing a detailed account of the services and achievements accomplished during the past four years under the leadership of former Minister Al-Haj Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa.
Former Minister Khairkhwa, in his remarks, reflected on the Ministry’s progress over the past four years, noting that many significant achievements had been realized in various cultural, literary, and administrative fields. He prayed for the continued success of the newly appointed minister and called on all staff of the Ministry of Information and Culture to extend their full support and cooperation to him, just as they had during his tenure.
Sheikh Shir Ahmad Haqqani praised the dedication and efforts of Al-Haj Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa. He expressed his satisfaction that all officials of the Islamic Emirate are united in their sincere intention to serve the people. He described the responsibility entrusted to him as a profound trust. He called upon all ministry officials and employees to remain dedicated and to serve the nation faithfully in accordance with Islamic and national principles.
It is noteworthy that, under the decree of the Esteemed Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah preserve him), Sheikh Shir Ahmad Haqqani, formerly the Governor of Laghman Province, has been appointed as the new Minister of Information and Culture. Meanwhile, the former minister, Al-Haj Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa, has been appointed as the governor of Maidan Wardak Province.
