Safeguarding Historical Relics, National Assets Everyone’s Responsibility: Minister Safi

 Acting Minister of Information and Culture, Hasina Safi, inaugurated the exhibition ‘Amanullah Khan Relics and Efforts for Independence and Development of the country’ here at the National Museum of Afghanistan yesterday, Bakhtar News Agency reported. The ceremony was attended by a number of government officials, foreign diplomats, culturists and representatives of the civil and cultural organizations in Kabul. At the outset, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani’s message was read out by BNA General Director Najibullah Shinwari, congratulating the Ministry for holding of the exhibition. “On the occasion of 100th Independence Anniversary of Afghanistan, the Ministry of Information and Culture has been organizing an exhibition titled ‘Amanullah Khan’s relics and efforts for independence and development of the country’ which is indeed a good step for reviving the memories of that great and golden era,” the president said in his message. Later, the acting minister of information and culture spoke related to the event, saying the exhibition was being held to commemorate the country’s 100th independence anniversary.
The acting minister said the exhibition was included relics related to Amanullah Khan and the Amani era and was aimed to acquaint the new generation with that era’s developments and activities. Briefing the participants on National Museum’s programs and strategies, the acting minister said there were plans on hand to establish provincial museums and further introduce the country’s history and culture to the new generations. Minister Safi went on saying that it was every people’s responsibility to protect the country’s historical relics and national assets. Director of the National Museum briefed the audience related to the exhibition, saying Museums could act as bridge between different cultures and can promote peace on national and international stages. The event was concluded with displaying a short documentary film on activities of King Amanullah Khan.
