Preview of the Book Titled “Diplomatic Guide
On Wednesday, the 10th of Rajab, 1447 AH, a preview session for the book titled “Diplomatic Guide” was hosted by the Department of Public Libraries within the Ministry of Information and Culture. The book was authored by Professor Dr. Shaker Mahmoud Wahib Al-Bayati and Professor Dr. Ali Abdul-Hussein Abdullah Al-Uqabi, and it was translated into Pashto by Dr. Mohammad Jawed Fadaei.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including Dr. Rafiullah Samim, the Director of Public Libraries; researcher and writer Dr. Lotfullah Khairkhaw; Dr. Osama Aziz, Chancellor of Kabul University; and Dr. Abdul-Hai Qanet, Director of the Third Political Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Additionally, a significant number of poets, writers, and youth representatives attended.
Dr. Rafiullah Samim expressed his delight that the Department of Public Libraries was hosting such a valuable gathering. He emphasized that the public library serves as a shared resource for everyone and that all individuals can benefit from its offerings. He encouraged poets and writers to donate their works to the public library, thereby enriching its collection, and suggested establishing a dedicated hall for Afghan authors to preserve their writings.
The speakers congratulated the translator on this significant accomplishment and offered recommendations regarding the book. They acknowledged that the text has been translated in line with contemporary needs and serves as a comprehensive guide for diplomats.
The speakers also highlighted that translation and authorship are specialized skills that not everyone possesses and encouraged the use of these talents for projects that are meaningful, impactful, and beneficial.
Dr. Mohammad Jawed Fadaei, the book's translator, expressed his gratitude to the Department of Public Libraries for its commitment to supporting poets and writers. He noted that it was a privilege to preview the “Diplomatic Guide” and that, based on feedback from esteemed attendees, necessary revisions could be made for the book's second edition.
It is important to note that “Diplomatic Guide” offers an in-depth exploration of diplomacy, international relations, and foreign policy, clearly and analytically outlining the principles involved in this complex field.
