The Khost Provincial Department of Information and Culture has distributed brochures explaining the provisions of Decrees No. 17 and 2 as part of its efforts to raise public awareness and discourage customs that cause financial and social hardship.
Mawlawi Mohammad Sabir Sabari, head of the department, said extensive efforts had been made to inform the public about the contents of both decrees. In addition to distributing printed brochures, the department has installed banners carrying awareness messages about the decrees in various parts of Khost city.
According to officials, Decree No. 17 seeks to prevent improper customs associated with engagements, weddings, bereavements, and the return of pilgrims from Hajj and Umrah. Decree No. 2 sets out guidance on the establishment of prayer.
Through these public awareness initiatives, the department aims to familiarise residents with the provisions of both decrees and encourage them to avoid customs that place unnecessary financial and social burdens on individuals and families.
