As part of its ongoing initiative to enhance the visual and cultural landscape of Afghan cities, the Billboard and Advertising Reform Commission of the Ministry of Information and Culture conducted a field inspection across key areas of District 2 in Kabul City, particularly the Dehn-e-Bagh – Ansari Square commercial zone.

During the visit, commission members examined signage and advertising billboards across various shops and markets. Their goal was to verify compliance with national standards and ensure public ads align with Afghan cultural and linguistic values.

Commission officials communicated directly with shopkeepers, business owners, and residents, emphasizing the importance of proper signage and its role in preserving urban beauty and national identity. The delegation provided clear guidance on approved signage formats, explained the reform process, and outlined the campaign's objectives.

Several billboards that did not meet standards or were visually inappropriate were identified for removal. In such cases, commission members suggested alternative solutions that reflect professional standards and cultural sensitivity.

Local shopkeepers and residents widely supported the reform initiative, calling it a necessary step to protect cultural heritage and improve the city’s image. They expressed full support and pledged to follow the new regulations and help create a more unified and respectful visual environment.

The Ministry of Information and Culture reaffirms its commitment to strengthening national identity, preserving language, and maintaining urban order through responsible media and advertising practices. The campaign will extend to other districts and provinces in the coming weeks 1s part of its ongoing initiative to enhance the visual and cultural landscape of Afghan cities.
