Memorial Gathering in Syed Karam District Honoring the Martyrs of the Past Two Decades of Jihad
The Directorate of Information and Culture of Paktia Province organized a memorial gathering in Syed Karam District to honor the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives over the past twenty years of jihad.
The event was attended by several dignitaries, including Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor, the Minister of Water and Energy; Sheikh Abdul Rahman Akhundzada, the Deputy Minister of Islamic Education at the Ministry of Defense; and officials from various government institutions in Paktia, Logar, Khost, and Paktika provinces. Scholars, mujahideen, community elders, and the families of martyrs were also present.
In his address, Mawlawi Sawab Jan Islamyar, the Director of Information and Culture for Paktia Province, emphasized the importance of preserving jihadi values. He announced plans to establish a Jihadi Museum and to document the biographies and legacies of martyrs, ensuring that their sacrifices are remembered for future generations. He also encouraged the families of martyrs to continue their cooperation in this vital mission.
Minister of Water and Energy Mullah Abdul Latif Mansoor reinforced that the Islamic system has been built upon the sacrifices of thousands of martyrs. He stressed that it is the shared responsibility of all mujahideen, scholars, and citizens to defend and strengthen this system. Furthermore, he reaffirmed the leadership of the Islamic Emirate’s commitment to honoring the blood of martyrs and fulfilling their noble aspirations while preserving their sacrifices as a proud part of the nation's history.
Representing the families of martyrs, Haji Talajan, the father of the late martyr Fida’i Akhtar Jan (may Allah accept him), expressed his gratitude. He stated that such gatherings provide reassurance and encouragement to the families of martyrs. He also appealed to officials for greater support and resources, especially concerning the education and upbringing of orphans left behind by martyrs.
The ceremony concluded with the distribution of certificates of appreciation in honor of the martyrs, alongside financial assistance to their families.
