Japan will host an international conference focused on the cultural heritage of Afghanistan

 Mavlawi Atiqullah Azizi, Deputy Minister of Art and Culture at the Ministry of Information and Culture, met with Japanese Ambassador Mr. Takuyoshi Kurumaya and his deputy in Kabul. During the meeting, he emphasized that the historical and cultural relations between Japan and Afghanistan are unforgettable. 

He stated, "Japan has made significant efforts to restore Afghanistan's historical sites and has provided financial support for numerous construction projects." While expressing gratitude for Japan's contributions, he also expressed hope for continued support and coordination in protecting Afghanistan's historical and cultural heritage.
 The deputy minister highlighted several historical areas and monuments that urgently need repair and preservation. 

In his remarks, Ambassador Takuyoshi Kurumaya acknowledged the efforts of the Ministry of Information and Culture in safeguarding and restoring cultural heritage. He noted, "If this strategy and determination persist, the international community will likely step forward to assist Afghanistan in the cultural sector.

He added, "We are working to host an international conference on Afghanistan's cultural heritage in Tokyo to draw global attention to the protection and development of this heritage."

 Ambassador Takuyoshi Kurumaya concluded by stating that Japan views cultural issues as independent of politics and is committed to supporting them regardless of the circumstances.
