Deputy Minister of Publications Addresses Media Concerns During Visit to Herat

 During an official visit to Herat Province, Mr. Muhajir Farahi, the deputy minister for publications at the Ministry of Information and Culture, held a productive meeting with officials from the provincial Directorate of Information and Culture, as well as representatives from various media outlets. The session focused on understanding and addressing the challenges faced by media institutions in the region.
 
Shameel Ahmad Mishal, the head of the Media and Journalists' Support Committee for the Western Zone, raised several key issues, including delays in renewing broadcasting licenses, complications related to radio and television frequencies, and various obstacles that hinder the operations of independent media organizations. Media heads from active outlets in Herat also share their concerns and share suggestions for improvement.
 
In his closing remarks, Mr. Farahi expressed appreciation for the efforts and dedication of journalists and media professionals. He reaffirmed the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan's commitment to support national and independent media. Additionally, he pledged to work towards providing better legal and technical facilities, ensuring a more conducive environment for media to operate freely and responsibly throughout the country.
