The Commission for Naming Historical Sites, Streets, and Squares Holds its Regular Meeting
On Wednesday, the 2nd of Jumada al-Thani 1446, the Ministry of Information and Culture conducted a regular meeting of the Commission for Naming Historical Sites, Streets, and Squares of the country. The meeting was chaired by Mawlawi Atiqullah Azizi, Deputy Minister for Art and Culture.
During this meeting, the committee appointed in the previous session presented a report detailing their visit to the newly constructed streets and squares in the 5th, 6th, and 13th districts of Kabul. Based on the report, the commission members made the necessary decisions.
As part of their decisions, the commission reverted the name "Mohammad Salim Izdyar Square" back to "Zambaq Square." Additionally, in response to public demand, "Qala Wazir Square" was officially registered under that name.
The meeting also addressed the newly constructed road connecting Khair Khana to Qargah, two new squares in Helmand province, and a square designed by an engineer from Parwan province. The commission tasked its delegation with gathering comprehensive information on these topics and presenting it at the next meeting.
