Afghanistan Advocates for Strengthening Cultural Ties with Russia and the Region
Mavlawi Atiqullah Azizi, the Deputy Minister of Art and Culture at the Ministry of Information and Culture, met with a delegation from the Chechen Republic of the Russian Federation. The delegation, led by Mr. Jambulat Amrov, Chairman of the Chechen Academy of Sciences and Deputy Council of Nations of the Russian Federation, visited Kabul to discuss cultural matters and tour Afghanistan's historical and cultural landmarks. The meeting took place at Kabul International Airport.
Mr. Amrov expressed his pleasure in visiting Afghanistan and emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural relations between Afghanistan and the Chechen Republic. He highlighted the historical and cultural commonalities between the two nations, which he considered essential for enhancing and expanding bilateral relations.
In his remarks, Mavlawi Atiqullah Azizi referred to the people of the Chechen Republic as "brothers" to the Afghan people and noted the long-standing historical ties between Afghanistan and Russia, dating back to the Timurid era. He further emphasized the significant role of the Russian Federation in Afghanistan's economy and infrastructure.
