Babaji's Historic Mosque’s Primary strengthening for the Main Construction was Done In Ghazni Province
The Aga Khan Cultural Foundation has carried out the strengthening of the historic Babaji Mosque in Ghazni for the purpose of basic reconstruction.
In this regard, Engineer Fazal Karim Ahmadi, the Gead of the delegation of the Aga Khan Cultural Foundation to Ghazni, says; “This Foundation wants to carry out only the primary strengthening of the historic Babaji Mosque this year, in order to prevent the mosque from collapsing next year.”
Mr. Ahmadi adds that their delegation had previously conducted the survey, estimation and documenting of this historical mosque for the purpose of basic reconstruction and they want to rebuild the said mosque in the coming year.
At the same time, Director of Information and Culture of Ghazni Mullah Hamidullah Nisar welcomes the actions of Aga Khan Cultural Foundation and says; “Babaji historical mosque has a long historical background and he considers the fundamental restoration of this mosque as one of the priorities.”
According to cultural figures in Ghazni, Babaji Historical Mosque is the first mosque of Muslims in this province and it is said that this mosque was built during the time of the Companions of the Prophet (PBUH).
