Nuristan Launches Campaign to Raise Awareness of Decree No. 17 on Harmful Customs
The Nuristan Directorate of Information and Culture has launched a public awareness campaign in the provincial capital, Parun, and across the province’s districts to inform residents about Decree No. 17 issued by the Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him) to prevent harmful customs.
As part of the campaign, awareness banners have been installed along streets in Parun and in district markets. Brochures, stickers, booklets, and other informational materials related to the decree have also been distributed to residents.
Mawlawi Najibullah Hanif, Director of Information and Culture of Nuristan, said the campaign aims to inform the public about the harmful consequences of customs and practices contrary to the principles of Islamic Sharia. He called on religious scholars, tribal elders, and media outlets to provide people with the necessary information about the decree and to contribute to efforts to prevent such practices.
Residents of the area welcomed the initiative, noting that harmful customs can create serious problems and that awareness programs of this kind can help people better understand their rights and responsibilities under Islamic Sharia.
