A cultural and academic gathering commemorating Amir Ali Sher Nawai and Zaher al-Din Babur was held

on Thursday, the 7th of Sha'ban 1446, in Kabul. The event, supported by the Embassy of Uzbekistan, aimed to honor the scholarly and cultural contributions of these two significant figures. Attendees included Mavlawi Atiqullah Azizi, the Deputy Minister of Art and Culture at the Ministry of Information and Culture, His Excellency Oybek Usmanov, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Afghanistan, as well as numerous writers, poets, and youth.

In his address, Deputy Minister Mavlawi Atiqullah Azizi emphasized the profound richness of the shared cultural and academic heritage between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan. He noted that both nations made significant contributions to science, literature, philosophy, and art during the golden age of Islamic civilization. Figures like Amir Ali Sher Nawai and Zaher al-Din Babur played pivotal roles in the development of their respective cultures and established important historical ties between the two countries. Azizi further stated that the commonalities in poetry, literature, and philosophy have not only persisted over time but have also fostered the advancement of bilateral cooperation in contemporary society. He pledged to continue efforts to strengthen these cultural ties and enhance academic achievements, literature, and historical values in light of the legacies of these notable figures.

Ambassador Oybek Usmanov remarked that Uzbekistan shares deep historical and cultural connections with Afghanistan and is committed to preserving and promoting its shared cultural heritage.

During the event, several poets and writers presented scholarly papers discussing the contributions of both personalities to literature and culture.
