200 Artworks Exhibited at the Artisan Directorate ( Ryasat honeristan) 

The Ministry of Information and Culture, in collaboration with UNAMA, Setaregan, and Mashal Academy, organized an art exhibition at the Artisan Directorate, ( Ryasat honeristan) showcasing 200 artworks by talented young artists. 

The event was attended by Mawlawi Atiqullah Azizi, Deputy Minister for Arts and Culture; Fiona Frazer, Head of Human Rights at UNAMA; Brandon Cassar, UNESCO Representative; as well as officials from the Ministry of Information and Culture, distinguished writers, and renowned artists. During the exhibition, Deputy Minister Azizi emphasized that art is a form of individual creativity and plays a vital role in preserving and promoting cultural and social values.

He highlighted that such exhibitions serve as platforms for cultural exchange, fostering connections among people and enhancing mutual understanding between diverse communities.

Azizi further stated that fine arts enable individuals to express their emotions and ideas in unique and creative ways, contributing to the cultural enrichment of society. He also underscored the historical significance of Afghan miniature painting and calligraphy, attributing their development to the legendary artist Kamaluddin Behzad. He urged international organizations, particularly UNESCO, to officially recognize these art forms as part of Afghanistan’s cultural heritage and to prevent their misattribution to other nations.

Following his remarks, Fiona Frazer, Head of Human Rights at UNAMA, expressed her appreciation for Afghanistan's ongoing artistic endeavors. She commended the Ministry of Information and Culture’s commitment to preserving and promoting the arts, reiterating UNAMA’s dedication to safeguarding Afghanistan’s cultural and artistic legacy. She emphasized that supporting Afghan artists and protecting their heritage remain a top priority.
