Handicrafts and Artworks Showcased at 120 Stalls at Herat’s Ikhtiyaruddin Citadel

The fourth exhibition of handicrafts and artworks was held at the historic Ikhtiyaruddin Citadel in Herat Province as part of Tourism Week, with the cooperation of the Herat Directorate of Information and Culture and the Herat office of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).
According to officials from the Herat Directorate of Information and Culture, 120 stalls were set up at the exhibition to showcase and promote handicrafts and artworks, including 50 stalls allocated to men and 70 to women.
Officials said the exhibition was organized to support local artisans and craftspeople and provide them with an opportunity to showcase and promote their works and products.
Meanwhile, Mr. Kurshat Azdemir, Head of the TİKA office in Herat, said the agency has implemented around 200 projects in the province in the artistic, cultural, and social sectors.
Exhibitors welcomed the organization of the exhibition, noting that such events provide a valuable platform for promoting their products, expanding handicraft sales, and creating direct connections between artisans and the public.
The stall operators also called for the organization of more national and international exhibitions to help introduce the works and products of Herat’s artisans to wider markets.
