Signage and Advertising Reform Commission Conducts Inspection of Signage and Advertising Boards in Kabul’s 20th District

As part of its ongoing field activities, the Signage and Advertising Reform Commission, operating under the Deputy Ministry of Publications of the Ministry of Information and Culture, conducted an assessment and inspection of signage and advertising boards in District 20 (Chahar Asyab) of Kabul.
At the outset, Sayed Mahmood Wakman, a representative of the Afghanistan Academy of Sciences and a member of the Commission, addressed the media on the Commission’s activities and the importance of cultural affairs.
The Commission members subsequently conducted a comprehensive assessment of signage and advertising boards throughout the area. They issued the necessary recommendations for correcting several non-standard signs and advertising boards.
In addition, for signage and advertising boards containing foreign terms and expressions, the Commission’s professional members proposed appropriate equivalents in Afghanistan’s national languages. Furthermore, necessary recommendations were issued regarding signage and advertising boards that were outdated or damaged, contained images deemed inappropriate under Islamic principles, had been installed in unsuitable locations, or featured unclear or meaningless content.
It is worth noting that a total of 120 signs and advertising boards were assessed during the program.
