Commission Reviews Signage and Advertising Boards in Kabul’s 11th District
As part of its ongoing field activities, the Commission for the Improvement of Signage and Advertising Boards, affiliated with the Deputy Ministry of Publications Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Culture, reviewed and inspected signage and advertising boards in Kabul’s 11th District, including the Northern Terminal area.
At the outset, Enamullah Amani, a representative of the Kabul Municipality’s Directorate of Cultural Affairs, and commission members briefed traders, business owners, and shopkeepers in the area on the commission’s activities.
The commission members then conducted a comprehensive review of signage and advertising boards in the area and issued recommendations to improve a number of non-standard signs and advertising boards.
The commission’s professional members also proposed appropriate alternatives in the national languages for foreign terms and words used on certain signs and advertising boards. In addition, recommendations were issued to improve signs and advertising boards that were old or damaged, contained images contrary to Islamic principles, had been installed in inappropriate locations, or featured unclear or meaningless content.
A total of 150 signs and advertising boards were reviewed during the program.
