Thousands Attend the 24th Traditional (mana gul) Apple Blossom Poetry Gathering in Maidan Wardak

On 25 Muharram 1448 AH The 24th Traditional (mana gul) Apple Blossom Poetry Gathering was held in the Ibrahim Khail village of Maidan Wardak Province, organized by the Directorate of Information and Culture of Maidan Wardak in cooperation with the Directorate of Taranum and Taranas of the Ministry of Information and Culture.
The event brought together senior officials from provincial institutions, the Deputy Minister for Art and Culture of the Ministry of Information and Culture, Mawlawi Atiqullah Azizi; the Deputy Minister for Publications Affairs, Mr. Muhajir Farahi; a number of senior officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as poets, writers, literary figures, cultural advocates from across the country, and thousands of literature enthusiasts.
Welcoming the participants, the Director of Information and Culture for Maidan Wardak, Mawlawi Habibullah Mujahid, said it was encouraging to see thousands of citizens gather in an atmosphere of peace and brotherhood to preserve and promote their cultural heritage through the 24th Traditional Apple Blossom Poetry Gathering.
He noted that cultural events and poetry gatherings of this nature play an important role in strengthening national unity, fostering brotherhood, and promoting the country's cultural values.
Mawlawi Mujahid also encouraged poets to focus their work on the country's development, the preservation of Islamic values, the promotion of knowledge, national unity, and public awareness, rather than praising individuals.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Minister for Art and Culture, Mawlawi Atiqullah Azizi, highlighted the social and cultural significance of poetry gatherings, stating that such literary events not only contribute to the intellectual development of society but also play an important role in promoting Islamic and national values.
Referring to the value of poetry from an Islamic perspective, he said that purposeful and reform-oriented poetry can serve as an effective means of educating the public and guiding society toward constructive ideas while discouraging negative thinking.
During the gathering, numerous poets recited poems on themes including patriotism, peace, intellectual awakening, and other subjects. Their performances were warmly received by the audience.
The poetry gathering commenced in the afternoon and continued until late in the evening.
