The Rwash (Rhubarb) Cultural, Scientific, and Traditional Festival was celebrated in Maidan Wardak.

The Rwash (Rhubarb) Cultural, Scientific, and Traditional Festival was celebrated by the Maidan Wardak Directorate of Information and Culture in a recreational area of Behsud District. The event featured a series of cultural, literary, and sports activities.
Several high-ranking officials attended the ceremony, including the Governor of Maidan Wardak Province, Alhaj Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa; the Director of Information and Culture, Mawlawi Habibullah Mujahid; and the Head of the Ulema Council, Sheikh al-Quran wal-Hadith Abdulhadi Fazli. Also present were officials from various government institutions and tribal elders, along with a large number of residents.
Governor Alhaj Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa highlighted the importance of local cultural programs, stating that such events foster unity among the people, contribute to cultural development, and promote economic growth.
Sheikh al-Quran wal-Hadith Abdulhadi Fazli emphasized the need to preserve cultural values within society during his address. He shared key points from the 17th decree of His Excellency Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him) to raise public awareness and urged the community to prevent harmful customs and practices.
Director Mawlawi Habibullah Mujahid remarked that cultural festivals play a significant role in showcasing the region's natural beauty and promoting local products and market access. He noted that efforts are ongoing to expand such programs further.
Mr. Mujahid stated that the purpose of organizing this gathering was to communicate the 17th decree to the public, aiming to eliminate detrimental customs and traditions from society.
At the end of the ceremony, poets and devotional reciters performed, while athletes showcased various sports.
It is worth noting that the Rwash  (Rhubarb) Cultural, Scientific, and Traditional Festival has been held since the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate. This was the fourth Rwash celebration organized in Behsud District. Alongside government officials, a large number of residents participated in the festival.
