Renovation of the House of Great Emperor Ahmad Shah Baba Completed and Opened to Tourists

In Kandahar, the first phase of the renovation of the House of the great Emperor Ahmad Shah Baba has been completed and is now officially open to tourists. This restoration project was supervised by the Directorate for the Preservation of Historical Monuments, under the Ministry of Information and Culture. Funded by the Ministry's internal budget, the project cost 17.5 million Afghanis and took 17 months to complete.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several prominent officials, including Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal, the deputy minister for Tourism, Finance, and Administrative Affairs; Engineer Hasib Nasimi, the Head of the Directorate for the Preservation of Historical Monuments; officials from the Kandahar Directorate of Information and Culture; and various cultural figures.

During the ceremony, Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal expressed his pleasure at participating in the inauguration, emphasizing the significance of the House of Ahmad Shah Baba as a source of pride for the Afghan people. He stated, “Ahmad Shah Baba was a man of great vision and strong Islamic traditions and culture. The Ministry of Information and Culture is committed to preserving and restoring such historical sites. We have restored similar monuments in other provinces and will continue to implement further restoration projects.”

The house, constructed in the Bukhari architectural style, features six main rooms, two auxiliary rooms, two floors, and a basement.
