Dozens of Students Graduate from the First Batch of the Tourism and Hospitality Institute

On Thursday (4 Rajab 1447 AH), 27 students from the first batch of the Tourism and Hospitality Institute, which is affiliated with the Directorate of Tourism Research and Development under the Deputy Ministry for Tourism, Financial, and Administrative Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Culture, received their graduation certificates.

The graduation ceremony was attended by honorable Sheikh Shir Ahmad Haqqani, Minister of Information and Culture; Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Financie, and Administrative Affairs; Haji Mohammad Gulab, General President of the Union of Tourism, Pilgrimage, Hajj, and Umrah Companies; Ahmad Sair Rahimi, President of the Union of Tourism and Medical Companies of Kabul City; along with several senior officials from the Ministry of Information and Culture, the parents of the graduating students, and representatives from the media.

At the start of the ceremony, the Director of the Tourism and Hospitality Institute welcomed the participants and provided an overview of the institute. He mentioned that 27 students from this first cohort, 13 specializing in tourism management and 14 in hospitality, had completed approximately two years of theoretical and practical training. The director also noted that 50 students are currently enrolled at the institute and that around 160 other students have been given opportunities to learn English and Arabic, as well as computer skills and other subjects.

Sheikh Shir Ahmad Haqqani, the Minister of Information and Culture, expressed his satisfaction and emphasized that such events signify the country's development and demonstrate the Islamic Emirate's commitment to the progress and prosperity of all sectors. He further pointed out that the tourism industry is a vital component of the nation's economic development and that the Ministry of Information and Culture prioritizes the growth and strengthening of this sector.

Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal, the deputy minister for Tourism, Financial, and Administrative Affairs, shared his satisfaction with living under the Islamic system, where both officials and the public collaborate for national development. He urged the graduating youths to deliver high-quality services to domestic and foreign tourists, contributing to the country’s progress through the growth of the tourism industry.

Additionally, the deputy minister mentioned that the Ministry of Information and Culture is fully cooperating with tourism and pilgrimage companies, addressing their challenges promptly. He urged the management of tourism companies to maintain their cooperation with the Ministry and emphasized that all activities in this sector must comply with the law. He also insisted that each company should have at least one professional member within its organizational structure to project a positive image of the country to tourists.

Representatives from the Union of Tourism, Pilgrimage, Hajj, and Umrah Companies, as well as the Union of Tourism and Medical Companies of Kabul City, praised the professional training of youths in tourism and hospitality. They highlighted that attracting foreign visitors to witness the country’s natural beauty, historical, cultural, and recreational sites requires essential professional training in the tourism sector. They affirmed that foreign visitors can explore various parts of the country confidently, with all relevant institutions providing them full cooperation.
