The annual traditional (Anargul) Poetry Gathering was organized by the Directorate of Information and Culture of Kandahar Province in the presence of the Honorable Minister of Information and Culture, Sheikh Sher Ahmad Haqqani.

The gathering was attended by officials from various Emirati institutions, poets, writers, intellectuals, respected religious scholars, youth representatives, and numerous enthusiasts of poetry and literature.

Addressing the gathering, the Honorable Minister of Information and Culture, Sheikh Sher Ahmad Haqqani, emphasized that poets should dedicate their poetry to defending the Islamic system, strengthening unity, and encouraging obedience to the leadership.

He noted that poetry should serve as a means of promoting stability, progress, and social cohesion rather than becoming a source of ethnic or regional division. The Minister also expressed his appreciation to the organizers for successfully arranging the event.

During the ceremony, a member of the Kandahar Ulema Council, Sheikh-ul-Hadith Mawlawi Abdul Hadi Abul Khalid, advised poets, writers, and nasheed reciters to use their words and writings to encourage people to support the Islamic system. He stated that just as Mujahideen carry out jihad through armed struggle, people of the pen also fulfill their responsibility through writing and public speech.

He further described the current security and Islamic system under the leadership of Amir al-Mu’minin (May Allah protect him) as the result of the sacrifices and efforts of the Mujahideen and the people. He stressed that obedience to the Amir is obligatory and urged poets and writers to reflect the leadership’s decrees and guidance in their literary works.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Kandahar, Haji Mullah Sahib, welcomed guests who had traveled from various provinces across the country. He stated that gatherings and ceremonies are now being held in an atmosphere of peace, goodwill, and happiness, adding that, by the blessing of Allah Almighty, many long-standing challenges have been resolved.

The Governor also thanked the organizers and visiting guests, noting that their participation had further enhanced the significance and beauty of the event.

During the poetry gathering, poets, naat reciters, and nasheed performers presented poems, naats, and anthems highlighting the decrees of the Supreme Amir al-Mu’minin (May Allah protect him), as well as themes of unity, obedience, security, and the achievements and activities of the Islamic system.
