On Saturday, the 28th of Shawwal, 1446 AH, a coordination meeting took place at the Ministry of Information and Culture. The meeting was chaired by Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal, the Deputy Minister for Tourism, Finance, and Administrative Affairs, and included participation from officials representing various tourism and travel companies.

Attendees included Deputy Minister Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal, Mawlawi Haji Mohammad Tayeb, the Director of the Tourism Department, and the President and senior representatives from the Association of Tourism and Travel Companies.

Deputy Minister Jamal announced the creation of a centralized licensing authority for tourism and travel companies. Moving forward, these companies will secure their operational licenses directly from the Tourism Directorate under the Deputy Ministry for Tourism, Finance, and Administrative Affairs.

He further explained that all tourism and travel companies will be registered under a single, unified association, which will feature a leadership board and an executive committee.

The Ministry of Information and Culture is committed to fully supporting these companies and will conduct regular monitoring and evaluation of their operations to ensure that standards are met.

Deputy Minister Jamal emphasized that with the restoration of nationwide security, the number of foreign tourists visiting Afghanistan is steadily increasing. To accommodate this growth, the Deputy Ministry has already implemented necessary programs and is continuing to develop major strategic plans aimed at providing even greater facilities for tourists.

During the session, the president and representatives of the Association of Tourism and Travel Companies presented detailed reports on their activities and highlighted existing challenges. Deputy Minister Jamal assured participants of the ministry’s full support and pledged to address and resolve their issues.
