TİKA Delegation Visits the Directorate of Public Libraries

A delegation from the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), led by Fazıl Ekin Erdoğan, the agency’s program coordinator in Afghanistan, visited the Directorate of Public Libraries to assess recent developments supported by TİKA. The visit focused on evaluating the furnishing and decoration work completed in the main reading hall and the children’s section of the Central Library—initiatives carried out with TİKA’s financial and technical assistance.

During the visit, the Director of Public Libraries, Hafez Nematullah Montazir, expressed his appreciation for TİKA’s continued support in strengthening Afghanistan’s academic and cultural infrastructure. He emphasized that such contributions play a vital role in promoting a culture of reading and learning among the Afghan people.

TİKA’s assistance has included the provision of tables and chairs for the library halls, bookshelves, modern air purification systems, and the complete furnishing and decoration of a dedicated area for children. These improvements aim to create a more welcoming and functional environment for readers of all ages.
