Minister Safi Considers Role of Art Valuable in Afghan Society
Acting minister of information and culture opened the ‘Art Works Exhibition’ on Sunday at National Gallery.
The exhibition, launched by the national gallery department on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Afghanistan Independence, included artworks as painting, calligraphy, miniature, tailoring, carton, children handicrafts and weaving.
In the opening ceremony, acting minister of information and culture Hasina Safi spoke and first offered her deep condolence and sympathy to the families of those martyred and wounded in a suicide attack at a wedding party in Kabul.
“Despite increasing problems and challenges, we’re not hapless and do have hope to work towards development and rebuilding the country,” Safi said. Acting minister of information and culture considered the role of art and artists as valuable in the society, asserting that artists and youth were art-loving and pen-loving people who were fighting by these instruments.
