Deputy Minister for Tourism, Finance, and Administrative Affairs Visits Historic and Cultural Sites in Herat
As part of his official visit to Herat province, Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Finance, and Administrative Affairs at the Ministry of Information and Culture, toured several key historic and cultural institutions. He was accompanied by Mawlawi Ahmadullah Mutaqi, Director of Information and Culture for Herat.
The visit included notable sites such as the historic Ikhtiyaruddin Citadel, the National Museum, Heriwa Darul-Funun Institute, the Public Library, the National Art Gallery, and the Herat Literary Association.
During the tour, Director Mawlawi Ahmadullah Mutaqi provided detailed briefings on the significance of each site, including the heritage value of Ikhtiyaruddin Citadel and the roles of the Darul-Funun, Public Library, Art Gallery, and Literary Association in safeguarding the province’s cultural legacy.
Deputy Minister Jamal praised Herat’s rich history and cultural accomplishments. He highlighted that the Ministry of Information and Culture is actively working to protect and restore historical monuments across the province.
He also stressed that restoring structures like the Ikhtiyaruddin Citadel and strengthening cultural institutions are major priorities for the Ministry. He noted that these cultural landmarks showcase the historical, artistic, and intellectual identity of Afghanistan.
