Deputy Minister for Tourism, Finance, and Administrative Affairs Meets with the Head of the Russian House of Science and Culture and Accompanying Delegation
On Tuesday (11 Jumada al-Thani 1447), Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Finance, and Administrative Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Culture, met with Sergei Stupachov, Head of the Russian House of Science and Culture, along with his accompanying delegation.
At the start, the Head of the Russian House of Science and Culture expressed particular interest in cultural development and stated that 2025 is a historic year for Afghanistan and Russia, adding that Russia has taken quick, practical steps regarding the recognition of the Islamic Emirate.
Mr. Stupachov also mentioned that in the coming year, a major “Cultural and Educational Forum” will be held in Kabul, focusing on culture, language, heritage, and innovation. During this forum, documentary and promotional programs about Afghanistan’s tourism sector will be made and shown in Russia. He also said the forum will offer opportunities to attract investment in tourism.
The Russian side agreed to cooperate with Afghanistan in organizing exhibitions, and both countries will hold joint cultural and tourism exhibitions. Mr. Stupachov praised the development projects of the Islamic Emirate and said they aim to increase the number of Russian tourists visiting Afghanistan.
Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal welcomed the Russian delegation and recalled that Russia was among the first countries to recognize Afghanistan after the British occupation. He added that with Russia’s recognition of the Islamic Emirate, history has repeated itself.
Mr. Jamal described the overall security situation in the country, especially for tourists, as excellent and assured that the Ministry of Information and Culture is fully ready to host Russian tourists. He emphasized that Afghanistan is a country rich in natural beauty, historical sites, religious monuments, traditional culture, delicious food, and handicrafts. He stated that they are inviting Russian tourists and also see great opportunities for investment in this sector, encouraging investors to take advantage of these opportunities.
In conclusion, both sides highlighted the importance of ongoing cooperation in the fields of culture and tourism.
