Deputy Minister for Tourism, Finance and Administrative Affairs Leads Delegation to Helmand
On 6 Rabi al-Thani 1448 AH Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Finance and Administrative Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Culture, led a delegation on an official visit to Helmand Province, where he met with Mawlawi Rahimullah Mahmood, Deputy Governor of Helmand, and Hafiz Abdulbari Rashid, Director of Information and Culture of Helmand.
Following the meeting, the delegation visited a number of properties belonging to the Ministry of Information and Culture in the province, including several properties under the Helmand Directorate of Information and Culture.
The visit was aimed at identifying suitable land for the construction of a new administrative building for the Helmand Directorate of Information and Culture. The delegation also assessed potential sites for the construction of a commercial market on properties belonging to the directorate.
The delegation also inspected ongoing restoration work at the Shashak and well of the ancient city of Bust. Mawlawi Jamal instructed engineers and relevant officials to ensure that the original structure of the historic site is preserved and that the restoration work is carried out properly and in accordance with professional standards.
The Deputy Governor of Helmand welcomed the visiting delegation and discussed the issues under consideration. He assured the delegation that the provincial leadership would provide the necessary cooperation and support for the implementation of the planned activities.
Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal said the Ministry of Information and Culture plans to rehabilitate a number of its properties in Helmand and put them into productive use through partnerships with the private sector. He called on the provincial leadership to provide greater cooperation and ensure the necessary coordination in this regard.
Mawlawi Jamal said the Ministry of Information and Culture has an important responsibility to convey information between the system and the people and to reflect the activities of the Islamic Emirate. He noted that the ministry, as the voice of the system, plays an important role in raising public awareness and conveying facts to the public.
He stressed that provincial directorates of information and culture, with the cooperation of provincial authorities, should strengthen their respective areas of work while paying greater attention to the preservation of historical monuments, cultural values and youth affairs.
Mawlawi Jamal also emphasized that the ancient city of Bust is one of the country's important historical monuments. He stressed that its historical significance and original structure must be carefully preserved during restoration and that all work should be carried out in accordance with professional standards.
During the visit, Mawlawi Jamal and Hafiz Abdulbari Rashid discussed the activities of the Helmand Directorate of Information and Culture, the preservation of historical and cultural sites, the development of cultural activities, initiatives for young people, information dissemination, ongoing work and future plans.
Hafiz Abdulbari Rashid briefed the visiting delegation on the condition of the relevant properties, the need for a new administrative building and potential sites for the proposed commercial market.
At the conclusion of the visit, after reviewing the condition of the properties, Mawlawi Jamal stressed the need for close coordination to identify and select suitable sites for the new administrative building and commercial market. He also commended the efforts and services of the Helmand Directorate of Information and Culture.
