Public Poetry Gathering Held to Mark Afghanistan’s Independence Days
Tuesday, 4 Rabi al-Awwal 1448 AH A public poetry gathering was held at Ghazi Stadium on Tuesday to mark Afghanistan’s Independence Days, observed on 24 and 28 Asad.
The event was organized by the Directorate of hymns and Anthems ( thrana and teranium ) of the Ministry of Information and Culture’s Deputy Ministry for Art and Culture. According to Officials the gathering was held to commemorate the country’s independence, promote religious and national values, strengthen unity and solidarity among the people, and encourage poetry and literary activities.
The event was attended by Sheikh Abdul Rahman Taibi, Deputy Minister for Art and Culture Muhajir Farahi, Deputy Minister for Publications; officials from various government institutions; officials from the Ministry of Information and Culture; poets, writers, literary and cultural figures; performers of anthems and religious hymns; and thousands of members of the public.
Speaking at the gathering, Taibi said Afghanistan’s independence had been achieved through the sacrifices and determination of the Afghan people. He said the victory of the Islamic Emirate had ensured the protection of the people’s religion, lives, property and dignity.
Taibi also said security had been established throughout the country, allowing people to travel to different parts of Afghanistan without concern. He called on media representatives to report on the achievements of the Islamic system and stressed the importance of unity and solidarity among the people, as well as obedience to the Emir.
Poets and performers of anthems and religious hymns presented their works during the gathering, drawing a warm response from the audience.
