Director of Public Libraries Meets Afghanistan’s Acting Ambassador to Malaysia

  7 Safar 1448 AH: During his official visit to Malaysia, Dr. Rafiullah Samim, Director of Public Libraries, Deputy Ministry of Art and Culture, Ministry of Information and Culture, met with Naqibullah Ahmadi, Acting Ambassador of Afghanistan to Malaysia, at the Embassy of Afghanistan in Kuala Lumpur.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between Afghanistan and Malaysia in the fields of public libraries and cultural exchange. The two sides held comprehensive discussions on expanding bilateral collaboration and exploring opportunities to benefit from Malaysia’s experience in library development. Key areas of discussion included capacity building, professional and technical cooperation, joint training programs, the modernization and digitization of libraries, and other initiatives aimed at enhancing public library services.
Dr. Samim expressed his appreciation for Ambassador Ahmadi’s support in facilitating the visit and reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to strengthening and expanding Afghanistan’s public library system. He also pointed out the necessity of promoting a culture of reading as a cornerstone of educational and cultural development.
Ambassador Ahmadi described the visit as an important starting point for fostering cooperation between the library institutions of Afghanistan and Malaysia. He expressed his confidence that the meetings with the relevant Malaysian authorities would positively contribute to the further development of the public library network of Afghanistan and bring about tangible outcomes in the field. He also reiterated the embassy’s continued commitment to support future cooperation and collaborations.
