Public Libraries Directorate Hosts Review of Martyrs of Laylat al-Qadr

The Directorate of Public Libraries, under the Deputy Ministry of Culture and Arts of the Ministry of Information and Culture, hosted a book review session for Martyrs of Laylat al-Qadr, authored by Qari Shamshad Huzayfa Barya, at the Directorate’s hall.
The event was attended by Dr Rafiullah Samim, Director of Public Libraries; the author; and a number of religious scholars, writers, literary figures and young people.
In his welcoming remarks, Dr Samim said the Directorate was pleased to host another academic gathering and provide a platform for introducing the book. He noted that such events encourage young people, writers and researchers to read, conduct research and write, thereby helping preserve an account of contemporary events for future generations.
Qari Shamshad Huzayfa Barya thanked the Directorate of Public Libraries for organizing literary programs and book review sessions. He urged writers to document the country’s current circumstances so future generations could learn about the events of their time, understand the facts and avoid falling victim to deception and manipulation.
Other speakers discussed the book and praised the author for documenting the events it covers. Addressing young people, they stressed that, alongside the military struggle, efforts were also needed in the intellectual sphere. They emphasized that writing and publishing are important ways to contribute in this field and communicate ideas to society.
Martyrs of Laylat al-Qadr focuses on the bombing of Omid Hospital, a drug-addiction treatment facility in Kabul, by Pakistan’s military regime on 27 Hoot 1404 in the Solar Hijri calendar. According to the report, hundreds of Afghan patients inside the hospital were killed, and many others were injured in the attack.
