A New Private Radio Station, “Paktia Jirga,” Begins Broadcasting in Paktia
Officials of the Paktia Provincial Directorate of Information and Culture have announced that a new private radio station, Paktia Jirga, has officially started broadcasting on 89.1 FM from the provincial capital, Gardez.
According to officials, the Directorate of Information and Culture remains committed to developing and strengthening the media sector. They said the new radio station aims to convey the voice of the people to the authorities, provide public information across various fields, and promote cultural values.
The officials described the launch of the station as an important step toward expanding the media landscape, stressing that the media plays a vital role in raising public awareness, fostering social cohesion, and highlighting the concerns and challenges of the people.
The Head of Broadcasting at Paktia Jirga Radio said the station will air 18 hours of diverse programming each day. The broadcasts will include coverage of the achievements and activities of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, as well as religious, political, cultural, health, educational, and social programs.
He added that the staff of Jirga Radio is committed to professionally reflecting the needs and concerns of the public and to creating a platform through the media for better coordination and understanding between the people and government officials.
It is worth noting that, since the Islamic Emirate came to power, this is the fifth radio station to officially begin operations in Paktia Province.
