Tuesday, 16 Dhul-Hijjah 1447 AH, Nearly four million domestic and international tourists visited Afghanistan’s recreational destinations and natural attractions during the Eid al-Adha holidays, according to figures provided by the Directorate for the Regulation of Tourism Activities of the Ministry of Information and Culture.
Most visitors traveled to provinces known for their rich natural beauty, historical landmarks, and cultural heritage. The number of tourists recorded during this period marks a notable increase compared to previous years.
According to the Directorate, the growth in visitor numbers reflects ongoing efforts to promote new tourism destinations, improve facilities and services for travelers, and enhance the overall tourism experience. The implementation of development and infrastructure projects, along with the prevailing security environment, has also contributed to the continued growth of domestic tourism and the increasing interest of international visitors in Afghanistan.
Tourists from across the country and abroad expressed satisfaction with their travel experiences, praising the level of security, public order, and the hospitality of local communities. Many visitors described their journeys as memorable, noting that recent improvements in tourism-related services and facilities have made travel across the country more accessible and enjoyable.
The Ministry of Information and Culture encourages all visitors to respect the customs and traditions of Afghanistan’s diverse communities and to support efforts aimed at protecting the environment, maintaining the cleanliness of public spaces, and preserving the country’s tourism sites and natural attractions.
The latest figures follow a similarly strong tourism season during the Eid al-Fitr holidays, when more than two million domestic and international tourists visited recreational destinations and natural attractions across the country.
