The Ambassador of Azerbaijan and Accompanying Delegation Meet with the deputy minister for Tourism, Finance, and Administrative Affairs

On Saturday (22 Jumada al-Thani 1447 AH), in Kabul, the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Mohammadov, along with the Consul, Mr. Tarial Ismayilov, met with the Deputy Minister of Information and Culture for Tourism, Finance, and Administrative Affairs, Mawlawi Qudratullah Jamal, with the aim of strengthening cultural relations and expanding joint cooperation between the two countries.
In his remarks, Mr. Mohammadov stated that Azerbaijan shares religious, cultural, and other commonalities with Afghanistan. He said that Azerbaijan seeks to strengthen and expand political, commercial, economic, and cultural relations with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. He added that the people of Afghanistan are culturally inclined and appreciative of culture, and despite numerous challenges, the attention given by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to cultural affairs is commendable.
According to him, Azerbaijani tourists who are active in the media, after visiting Afghanistan, conveyed the country’s diverse cultures, recreational sites, and historical places to the international community through media platforms. He noted that after decades of war, Afghanistan has transformed into a safe country, and tourists can confidently visit and explore its historical and recreational sites. He also stated that Azerbaijan is ready to provide training to Afghan youth through online courses.
The deputy minister for Tourism, Finance, and Administrative Affairs, Mr. Jamal, said that countries progress is possible through the strengthening of relations. He noted that Azerbaijan and Afghanistan share many commonalities and that enhancing relations with Azerbaijan in the economic, tourism, and cultural sectors is in the interest of both countries. He expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s positive perspective toward Afghanistan, emphasizing that Afghanistan has recently emerged from war and requires the cooperation of friendly countries in various fields. He added that both countries will further strengthen coordination in the media sector to present the true image of security in Afghanistan to the world and to serve as a means of attracting tourists. He also stated that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan administers the entire country in a unified manner under a single leadership and maintains relations with other countries based on goodwill.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of joint cooperation.
