MOIC Holds Meeting on Copyright Compliance and Protection of Authors’ Rights

Mawlawi Abdul Zahir Mukhlis, Director of Copyright at the Ministry of Information and Culture, held a meeting yesterday with representatives of state-run and private printing presses, photocopying businesses, book publishers and booksellers in Nangarhar Province to discuss compliance with copyright regulations and the protection of authors’ rights. The meeting took place at the Nangarhar Directorate of Information and Culture.
Discussions focused on the importance of copyright law, the protection of rights relating to printed works, compliance with legal requirements during publication, and the duties and responsibilities of printing press operators.
Mawlawi Mukhlis urged those responsible for printing presses and publishing businesses to observe applicable copyright laws and regulations when publishing books, magazines and other printed materials, and to refrain from unlawfully reproducing or distributing the intellectual and literary works of others.
He also stressed the importance of cooperation among participants in implementing copyright regulations, noting that protecting the rights of printed works is essential to supporting and safeguarding intellectual, cultural and literary production.
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants shared their concerns and proposals and pledged their full cooperation in implementing copyright regulations.
