Training Seminar Conducted for Librarians of Emirati Universities and Higher Education Institutions at the General Directorate of Public Libraries

On Tuesday (8 Sha‘ban 1447 AH), a training seminar was conducted at the hall of the General Directorate of Public Libraries, in cooperation with the Ministry of Information and Culture. This session marked the third day of a five-day training program organized by the Directorate of Research, Authorship, and Translation of the Ministry of Higher Education. The program was launched at Kabul University for dozens of librarians and library officials from Emirati universities and higher education institutions.

According to the organizers, the objective of the seminar is to provide library officials from Emirati universities and higher education institutions with comprehensive knowledge on library organization and management, cataloguing and classification of books, the use of modern technologies and software in librarianship, as well as a range of other essential topics.

The organizers also urged participants to make effective use of the information presented by the instructors and to implement the acquired knowledge practically within their respective libraries. The training seminar is being delivered by three professors from the Department of Library and Information Science at Laghman University.

At the same time, librarians and library officials from Emirati universities and higher education institutions expressed their satisfaction with the organization of the seminar and called for the arrangement of similar training programs in the future.

It is worth noting that, as part of the seminar activities, the participants also visited various halls and sections of the public libraries.
