Top Participants in the Book Reading Competition Titled “Prevention of Intellectual Deviation” Honored
The book reading competition, organized by the Public Libraries Directorate of the Ministry of Information and Culture in collaboration with a private library, Bait al-Hikmah Library, was held among hundreds of students in the Mirwais Square (Kota Sangi) area of the Fifth District of Kabul City. The results were announced, and 30 leading participants were awarded prizes.
Dr. Rafiullah Samim, Director of Public Libraries, provided comprehensive information on public libraries across the country and highlighted examples from Islamic history that illustrate scholars’ devotion and love for books.
Mr. Samim further stated that such competitions play a highly effective role in shaping the intellectual development of youth. He added that the primary objective of this competition was to strengthen the culture of reading in society and to promote intellectual reform among young people.
Similarly, Mr. Omari, Head of Bait al-Hikmah Library, and author Dad Mohammad Nawok, in their respective remarks, offered important recommendations to young people regarding the importance of reading and emphasized that the competition was conducted with full transparency.
It is noteworthy that the first-place winner of the competition received a laptop computer, the second-place winner was awarded a wristwatch, the third-place winner received a study desk, and the remaining top participants were presented with various religious and intellectual books as prizes.
